Southern Music Week: Lady Antebellum

20 07 2011

You’ve probably been living under a rock if you haven’t heard of Lady Antebellum. But, as we’ve learned from Geico commercials, some folks do live under a rock, so it’s worth making sure all our faithful readers know about this wonderful new group that have been taking the country and music world by storm.

Lady Antebellum formed in Nashville (where else?) in 2006. The group is composed of Dave, Hillary, and Charles. They’ve racked up a host of nominations and awards in the past five years. The trio was awarded the New Artist of the Year in 2008 by the CMA and has six Grammy’s to their credit.

They had a #1 song in 2010, “American Honey” that deserves a place on that Southern playlist I know you’ve been working on all summer.

One of my fave bands. Love their harmonies! The fact that Charles & Dave went to UGA doesn’t hurt either 😉 Always love to support fellow UGA grads/fans.

Yay! You know I love the UK Wildcats, but my baby sister goes to UGA, so when I’m not rooting for the Cats, I’m rooting for the Dogs!
