North Carolina Summer Vacation

20 08 2010

Each year, my family makes a trip the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina.  The trip is always a gift to my soul.  In the cabin we visit, The Judge’s Cabin, no flat screen televisions adorn the walls.  In fact, there are no televisions at all.  Phone service is poor, which is great for a person like me who is constantly on the internet/email via the phone.  Our trip usually includes some maintenance around the house, lots of reading, various assortments of beer and wine, watching the sunset over the ridge, and only worrying about what we are going to eat for the next meal.  Truly, it is very indulgent time, but time we all cherish to recollect ourselves from the harried pace of life.  I look forward to this trip every year.
