The Menu Project

18 08 2010

Coming from a family where every moment is spent dreaming about our next meal, it comes as no shock to find framed restaurant menus at my parent’s home.  These are menus from their travels to memorable restaurants in France.  The menus are little pieces of artwork, some include signatures of the chef, the evening specials, wine stains, and radiate life and the love of food in each.

Knowing how excited we are about menus, you will understand why I am terribly happy to relay information about The Menu Project from the Southern Food and Beverage Museum in New Orleans. They are asking for menu submittals from any southern or southern inspired restaurant you visit.  As restaurants come and go, and memories fade as we grow older, I find this to be an incredible glimpse at gastronomical history.

If you decide to submit a menu, make sure to include the name of the restaurant and the date of your meal.  For more information, please visit the Southern Food and Beverage Museum website.
