The Blind Side

1 04 2010

I finally got around to seeing The Blind Side. After weeks of sightseeing and house-searching, we just wanted to sit down in a nice theater and see a movie. We were delighted to find The Blind Side still playing at a cute little independent theater here in Monterey.

This movie was as Southern as they come. It was so nice to hear a drawled-out accent, and see all the sights of my good ol’ Memphis.

… And I’ll admit, many tears were shed, but all in all, this was an inspirational story of Michael Oher and the Tuohy family. I had many friends who attended high school with Mr. Oher at Briarcrest (though you Memphians will know I have to say I’m an ECS fan), and it’s so hearwarming to know there really are still good, decent folks out there. You Southerners will recognize neighbors and friends in Sandra Bullocks Oscar-wining performance, and our own Tim McGraw as the Tuohys.

If you’re looking for something to do some evening this weekend, put this on your Netflix list immediately. You won’t regret it.
