SCAD Featured Artist

2 03 2010

In our little corner of the world, SCAD, Savannah College of Art and Design, is the school for upcoming students of art.  Some of the most innovative artists graduate from SCAD and use their art to inspire us all.  I am always impressed by the many mediums used by many of their students.

The SCAD website is a constant source of inspiration, and a great way to find unique pieces for your home or office, that will not end up in mass production.  (Don’t you just hate finding that perfect little something, only later to find out that everyone has the exact same thing, or worse, a knockoff version?)

The clever website and shop, SCAD, features an artist each month.  February’s featured artist, Lorie Jean Corbus, is a fantastic example of an artist using mixed media, such as paint and photos in one piece. I hope you will enjoy her work, as much as I do.

Also, don’t forget to stop by the SCAD shop in downtown Savannah on your next trip and stop by their website for tons of great finds.  But be prepared to get off your wallet!!!
