Gulf Coast Stamps

southern lighthousesThere’s almost nothing more beautiful than a lighthouse — that is, except a Southern lighthouse. Standing tall and proud, lighting the way for weary sailors and other travelers, and beautifully symbolizing a monument to the constant hope of the light keeper.

The US Postal service is currently paying tribute to some of our most beautiful lighthouses located in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida with a series of Gulf Coast stamps. Some of the lighthouses depicted have been submerged by hurricanes, and stood for decades or even a century, lighting the way during some of the darkest of nights, literally and figuratively.

Next time you need to mail a card to your dear friend, pick up a sheet of these, and honor our beautiful South and all it has to offer.
