Well, here’s a simple solution that won’t embarrass or insult. When a friend asks for a loan, say you were just about to ask him/her for one. This will usually end the conversation quite quickly.
If you ever do lend money, think of it as a gift. This way, you won’t be disappointed when you don’t get your money back, and if you do, it’s just an extra bonus.
