My grandparents, uncles and aunts, and parents all have a collection of Mary A. Hadley Pottery from Louisville, Kentucky. Growing up in Louisville, my grandmother and her sisters fell in love with the pottery that included animals, people and general charm.
Mary A. Hadley with the help of her husband George opened M. A. Hadley Pottery in 1940 based on designs she created for relatives and friends. Today, new owners keep the Hadley patterns alive, along with the original factory in Louisville.
Perhaps this pottery began my affection for all things whimsical? I hope you will enjoy the pottery as much as my family does. Here are a few of my favorite patterns. They are fun to mix and match.
